FBR Income Tax Calculator Kaise Kaam Karta Hai?

Pakistan mein Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) har salaried person ki income par income tax collect karta hai. Tax ka hisaab progressive slab system ke through hota hai — yaani income jitni zyada hogi, tax rate utna hi high hoga. Hamara calculator latest FBR tax slabs (Tax Year 2024-25 aur 2025-26) implement karta hai, jo Finance Act 2024 aur Finance Act 2025 ke mutabiq hain.

Calculator mein aap apni monthly gross salary enter karte hain, woh automatically annual salary mein convert ho jaati hai (monthly × 12), phir tax slabs apply kar ke annual tax calculate hota hai. Monthly tax = annual tax ÷ 12. Aap ko annual tax, monthly tax, take-home pay aur effective tax rate sab display ho jaata hai.

Progressive Tax Slabs Kaise Kaam Karte Hain?

Pakistan mein progressive tax system hai — yaani aap ki poori income ek hi rate par tax nahi hoti. Income ko slabs mein divide kiya jata hai, har slab ka apna rate hota hai. Example ke taur par, agar aap ki annual salary Rs 2,400,000 (PKR 200,000 monthly) hai Tax Year 2025-26 mein, to tax calculation aise hoga:

Section 149 — Employer Ki Responsibility

Pakistan mein Income Tax Ordinance 2001 ki Section 149 ke mutabiq, employer withholding agent hai. Matlab employer aap ki monthly salary se tax deduct karta hai aur FBR ko deposit karta hai. Yeh tax adjustable hai, yaani saal ke end mein aap apni annual tax return file karte waqt final settlement hoti hai. Agar employer ne zyada tax deduct kar diya hai, to aap refund pa sakte hain.

Surcharge — High Earners Ke Liye

Agar aap ki annual taxable income Rs 10 million (1 crore) se zyada hai, to normal tax ke ilawa surcharge bhi lagta hai:

Filer Vs Non-Filer — Kyun Ahem Hai?

Pakistan mein Active Taxpayers List (ATL) mein shamil hona bohot zaroori hai. Non-filers par withholding tax (bank withdrawals, property transactions, car purchases, mobile phone purchases, etc.) almost double hota hai. Apni annual tax return file kar ke ATL mein apna naam shamil kar lein — yeh aap ke financial life ko bohot asaan bana dega.

Teacher/Researcher Rebate (Finance Act 2025)

Finance Act 2025 ne full-time teachers aur researchers ke liye 25% tax rebate wapas reintroduce kiya hai. Yeh rebate Tax Years 2023, 2024 aur 2025 ke liye available hai. Agar aap teacher/researcher hain, to aap ka payable tax 25% kam ho jaayega. Note: Tax Year 2026 se yeh rebate khatam ho jaayega.

Common Misconceptions

"Mera salary cash mein hai, to tax nahi lagega."

Galat. Cash ya bank — agar aap ki salary taxable income slab mein aati hai, to tax lazmi hai. Employer chahe cash mein salary de ya bank mein, Section 149 ke mutabiq tax deduct karna lazmi hai.

"Main part-time kaam karta hoon, tax nahi lagega."

Salary source se nahi, amount se relate karti hai. Agar aap ki total annual taxable income Rs 600,000 se zyada hai, to tax apply hoga — chahe part-time ho ya full-time.

"Main freelance kar raha hoon, yeh salary nahi."

Sahi baat — freelance income "business income" ya "income from profession" ke under aata hai. Salaried slabs apply nahi hote, non-salaried slabs apply hote hain (jo thore steep hain). Hamara FBR calculator sirf salaried ke liye hai.

Frequently Asked Questions

Rs 50,000 monthly salary par tax kitna lagega?
Rs 50,000/month = Rs 600,000/year, jo slab 1 (up to 600,000) mein aata hai. Is par 0% tax hai, yaani koi income tax nahi lagega. Yeh dono 2024-25 aur 2025-26 mein same hai.
2025-26 mein 1 lakh monthly salary par tax kitna hoga?
Rs 100,000/month = Rs 1,200,000/year. Slab 2 (600k-1.2M) mein aata hai. Tax = 1% × (1,200,000 - 600,000) = Rs 6,000/year = Rs 500/month. Pehle 2024-25 mein yeh Rs 30,000/year (Rs 2,500/month) tha, yaani Rs 24,000 ka saalana relief mila.
Surcharge kab lagta hai?
Surcharge tab lagta hai jab aap ki annual taxable income Rs 10 million (1 crore) se zyada ho. Salaried individuals par 9% (2025-26) aur non-salaried/AOP par 10% (2025-26) surcharge lagta hai — woh bhi aap ke income tax par, total income par nahi.
Business income aur salary dono hai, kaunsa slab?
Agar salary total taxable income ka 75% se zyada hai, to salaried slabs (kam rates) apply hote hain. Agar 75% se kam hai, to non-salaried/AOP slabs (zyada rates) apply hote hain. Yeh test har saal renewal hota hai.
Salary mein allowances tax-free hote hain?
Kuch allowances partial tax-free hain (jaise medical allowance ek limit tak, conveyance allowance, etc.), lekin 2022-23 ke baad ziada tar allowances ko total taxable income mein shamil kiya jata hai. Aap ka "gross salary" jo employer payslip par show karta hai, woh aam taur par tax basis hoti hai.
Non-filer hone se kya nuqsan hai?
Non-filer par withho ldion tax double hota hai: bank cash withdrawals (0.8% vs 0%), property transactions (4.5% vs 1.5%), car purchases, mobile phone purchases, etc. Is ke ilawa aap ATL mein nahi ho, to aap ko loans, credit cards aur visas mein bhi mushkil ho sakti hai.

Advanced Tax Planning — Apna Tax Kam Karne Ke 10 Tareeqay

1. Tax Credits — Section 61, 62, 63, 64

Pakistan tax system mein tax credits hain jo aap ke payable tax ko direct reduce karte hain (yeh deductions nahi hain — credits hain, yani tax ka asli kam). Sab se important tax credits:

2. Worked Example — Tax Planning Ka Asar

Maqbool sahib ki annual salary Rs 3,000,000 hai (Tax Year 2025-26). Without tax planning:

Tax = Rs 116,000 + 23% × (3,000,000 - 2,200,000) = Rs 116,000 + Rs 184,000 = Rs 300,000

Ab tax planning apply karte hain:

3. Salary Restructuring — Tax-Efficient Packages

Agar aap negotiate kar rahe hain to salary structure ko tax-efficiently design karein. Pakistan mein kuch allowances tax-free hain ya partially exempt:

Allowance Tax-Free Limit Notes

Conveyance AllowanceRs 2,500/monthFor commuting to work
Utility AllowanceRs 1,000/monthFor electricity/gas

5. Section 7E — Deemed Income On Property

Tax = 1% × FMV. Lekin exemptions hain:

6. Tax Year Calendar Pakistan

Pakistan ka fiscal year 1 July se 30 June tak hota hai. Important dates yaad rakhein:

7. Common Tax Filing Mistakes

  1. Salary slip nahi attach karna: Salaried individuals ko employer ki salary certificate attach karni chahiye.
  2. Wealth reconciliation galat: Assets + Income - Expenses = Net Wealth. Is ka math match hona chahiye.
  3. Foreign assets disclose na karna: Agar overseas Pakistan ke paas foreign assets hain aur wo Resident hain, to disclose karna lazmi hai. Penalty 1% per month.
  4. Bank statements attach na karna: Sirf wealth statement nahi, supporting documents bhi attach karein.
  5. Tax credits claim na karna: Bohat log Section 62, 63, 64 ke benefits miss karte hain.
  6. Wrong form selection: Salaried = 114, Business = 115, AOP = 115A, Company = 116.
  7. Dependents declare na karna: Wife aur children ke assets bhi apni wealth statement mein shamil karein.
  8. Late filing: Surcharge 0.5%/month + Rs 1000/day penalty minimum.

8. Salary Slip Read Karna Seekhein

Aap ki salary slip ke components samajhna zaroori hai. Typical Pakistan salary slip:

9. Tax Refund Process

Agar aap ne zyada tax pay kar diya hai (employer ne zyada deduct kar liya, ya advance tax zyada ho gaya), to refund claim kar sakte hain:

  1. Annual return file karte waqt refund amount claim karein
  2. FBR IRIS mein refund application submit karein (Form RIF)
  3. Supporting documents attach karein (tax deduction proofs, employer certificate)
  4. FBR verification process (typically 3-12 months)
  5. Refund direct bank transfer (provide IBAN)

Common reasons for refund: zyada tax deducted by employer, foreign tax credit available, donation receipts not accounted for, multiple jobs in same year. Note: FBR refunds slow hain — 6-12 months normal hai. Agar 12 mahine se zyada ho to PRAL (FBR department) se follow up karein.
