Finance Act 2025 ne salaried class ke liye khaas relief diya hai: Slab 2 rate 5% → 1% (low income earners ke liye), Slab 3 rate 15% → 11%, Slab 4 rate 25% → 23%. Is ke ilawa Rs 10M se zyada income par surcharge 10% → 9% kar diya gaya (salaried only). Non-salaried/AOP slabs unchanged hain.
Pakistan mein Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) har salaried person ki income par income tax collect karta hai. Tax ka hisaab progressive slab system ke through hota hai — yaani income jitni zyada hogi, tax rate utna hi high hoga. Hamara calculator latest FBR tax slabs (Tax Year 2024-25 aur 2025-26) implement karta hai, jo Finance Act 2024 aur Finance Act 2025 ke mutabiq hain.
Calculator mein aap apni monthly gross salary enter karte hain, woh automatically annual salary mein convert ho jaati hai (monthly × 12), phir tax slabs apply kar ke annual tax calculate hota hai. Monthly tax = annual tax ÷ 12. Aap ko annual tax, monthly tax, take-home pay aur effective tax rate sab display ho jaata hai.
Pakistan mein progressive tax system hai — yaani aap ki poori income ek hi rate par tax nahi hoti. Income ko slabs mein divide kiya jata hai, har slab ka apna rate hota hai. Example ke taur par, agar aap ki annual salary Rs 2,400,000 (PKR 200,000 monthly) hai Tax Year 2025-26 mein, to tax calculation aise hoga:
Pakistan mein Income Tax Ordinance 2001 ki Section 149 ke mutabiq, employer withholding agent hai. Matlab employer aap ki monthly salary se tax deduct karta hai aur FBR ko deposit karta hai. Yeh tax adjustable hai, yaani saal ke end mein aap apni annual tax return file karte waqt final settlement hoti hai. Agar employer ne zyada tax deduct kar diya hai, to aap refund pa sakte hain.
Agar aap ki annual taxable income Rs 10 million (1 crore) se zyada hai, to normal tax ke ilawa surcharge bhi lagta hai:
Pakistan mein Active Taxpayers List (ATL) mein shamil hona bohot zaroori hai. Non-filers par withholding tax (bank withdrawals, property transactions, car purchases, mobile phone purchases, etc.) almost double hota hai. Apni annual tax return file kar ke ATL mein apna naam shamil kar lein — yeh aap ke financial life ko bohot asaan bana dega.
Finance Act 2025 ne full-time teachers aur researchers ke liye 25% tax rebate wapas reintroduce kiya hai. Yeh rebate Tax Years 2023, 2024 aur 2025 ke liye available hai. Agar aap teacher/researcher hain, to aap ka payable tax 25% kam ho jaayega. Note: Tax Year 2026 se yeh rebate khatam ho jaayega.
Galat. Cash ya bank — agar aap ki salary taxable income slab mein aati hai, to tax lazmi hai. Employer chahe cash mein salary de ya bank mein, Section 149 ke mutabiq tax deduct karna lazmi hai.
Salary source se nahi, amount se relate karti hai. Agar aap ki total annual taxable income Rs 600,000 se zyada hai, to tax apply hoga — chahe part-time ho ya full-time.
Sahi baat — freelance income "business income" ya "income from profession" ke under aata hai. Salaried slabs apply nahi hote, non-salaried slabs apply hote hain (jo thore steep hain). Hamara FBR calculator sirf salaried ke liye hai.
Pakistan tax system mein tax credits hain jo aap ke payable tax ko direct reduce karte hain (yeh deductions nahi hain — credits hain, yani tax ka asli kam). Sab se important tax credits:
Maqbool sahib ki annual salary Rs 3,000,000 hai (Tax Year 2025-26). Without tax planning:
Tax = Rs 116,000 + 23% × (3,000,000 - 2,200,000) = Rs 116,000 + Rs 184,000 = Rs 300,000
Ab tax planning apply karte hain:
Agar aap negotiate kar rahe hain to salary structure ko tax-efficiently design karein. Pakistan mein kuch allowances tax-free hain ya partially exempt:
| Allowance | Tax-Free Limit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Medical Allowance | 10% of basic salary | Most common tax-free component |
| Conveyance Allowance | Rs 2,500/month | For commuting to work |
| Utility Allowance | Rs 1,000/month | For electricity/gas |
| Gratuity | Rs 30 lakh on retirement | After 5+ years service |
| Pension | Varies | Generally 50% exempt for commuted pension |
| Leave Encashment | Rs 25 lakh on retirement | Half average salary × years |
| Perquisites (car, driver) | As per FBR valuation | Often better than cash |
| Provident Fund | Employer contribution tax-free | Withdrawal taxable |
Filer hone se aap ko har jagay withholding tax (WHT) kam dena parta hai. Yeh aam transactions par kya asar karta hai — table dekhein:
| Transaction | Filer WHT | Non-Filer WHT | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bank cash withdrawal > Rs 50,000/day | 0% | 0.8% | 0.8% |
| Property purchase | 1.5% | 4.5% | 3% |
| Car purchase (1300cc) | 1% | 2% | 1% |
| Dividend income | 15% | 30% | 15% |
| Bank profit on deposit | 15% | 30% | 15% |
| PSX capital gains (<1 yr) | 15% | 30% | 15% |
| Mobile phone purchase | 1% | 2% | 1% |
| Car token (annual) | Variable | Double | 100% |
Tax = 1% × FMV. Lekin exemptions hain:
Pakistan ka fiscal year 1 July se 30 June tak hota hai. Important dates yaad rakhein:
Aap ki salary slip ke components samajhna zaroori hai. Typical Pakistan salary slip:
Agar aap ne zyada tax pay kar diya hai (employer ne zyada deduct kar liya, ya advance tax zyada ho gaya), to refund claim kar sakte hain:
Common reasons for refund: zyada tax deducted by employer, foreign tax credit available, donation receipts not accounted for, multiple jobs in same year. Note: FBR refunds slow hain — 6-12 months normal hai. Agar 12 mahine se zyada ho to PRAL (FBR department) se follow up karein.
